Climate of Nuevo Laredo

Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, experiences a semi-arid climate (Köppen climate classification: BSh), characterized by hot summers and mild winters. This climate type is defined by low precipitation rates compared to evaporation rates, leading to a dry environment for much of the year.

Temperature

The temperature in Nuevo Laredo fluctuates significantly throughout the year. Summers, spanning from late May to early September, are intensely hot. Average high temperatures during this period consistently reach or exceed 95°F (35°C), often soaring above 100°F (38°C). July and August are typically the hottest months. Extreme heat waves can push temperatures even higher, posing a risk of heat-related illnesses.

Winters, from late November to February, are comparatively mild. Daytime temperatures usually range between 50°F (10°C) and 70°F (21°C). However, nighttime temperatures can drop considerably, occasionally falling below freezing, especially in December and January. Frosts are not uncommon during these months.
