Golshifteh Farahani is an Iranian-French actress known for her powerful performances and her outspoken advocacy for artistic freedom. Born in Tehran in 1983 to actor parents, Behzad Farahani and Fahimeh Rahim Nia, she began acting at a young age, winning the Best Actress award at the Fajr International Film Festival at just 14 for her role in The Pear Tree (1998).
